Call of Duty: Vanguard and EA Sports FC 26 Hit Game Pass This Week

Microsoft's second Game Pass wave for June drops two big names: CoD Vanguard on June 17 and EA Sports FC 26 on June 18, timed to the World Cup.

Microsoft has revealed the second wave of Game Pass additions for June 2026, led by two marquee titles arriving back-to-back this week.

Call of Duty: Vanguard – June 17

Call of Duty: Vanguard arrives on Game Pass on June 17. The game was developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision. Vanguard establishes a storyline featuring the birth of the special forces facing an emerging threat at the end of World War II across multiple theatres of war.

The game received mixed reviews from critics, with praise toward the entertainment value of the campaign and multiplayer and the graphics, but criticism for its writing, Zombies mode, and lack of innovation. Sledgehammer worked primarily on the campaign and multiplayer, while the Zombies mode was developed by Treyarch.

The Vanguard addition feels like a soft launch for Xbox’s reported plans to add older Call of Duty titles to Game Pass now that new releases will no longer arrive day-one on Game Pass Ultimate.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available on Cloud, PC, and Console for Game Pass Premium, Game Pass Ultimate, and PC Game Pass.

EA Sports FC 26 – June 18

EA Sports FC 26 joins EA Play and becomes available to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members on June 18. The timing is deliberate: the FIFA World Cup 2026 is playing out across 16 North American host cities right now, with group stage matches running through June 26 before knockout rounds begin on June 28.

Members can claim a Supercharge Pack available from June 18 to July 17, and get recurring rewards like Football Ultimate Team Draft Tokens and seasonal Clubs rewards. Members also save 10% on EA digital purchases.

What Else Is Coming

The full wave 2 schedule rounds out with several more additions through early July:

Title Date Tiers
Junkster June 16 Ultimate, PC
Call of Duty: Vanguard June 17 Ultimate, Premium, PC
EA Sports FC 26 June 18 Ultimate, PC
Abyssus June 25 Ultimate, Premium, PC
RV There Yet? June 30 Ultimate, Premium, PC
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 July 2 Premium (now added)
Winds of Arcana: Ruination July 6 Ultimate, Premium, PC

Abyssus, arriving June 25, is a fast-paced roguelite first-person shooter that strands one to four players in the underwater ruins of an ancient brinepunk civilization, with survival relying on fast reflexes, heavily customized weaponry, and hundreds of potential power-ups. Winds of Arcana: Ruination on July 6 is a story-rich, fully voiced, 2.5D action Metroidvania in which players discover the secrets of a sundered world.

Games Leaving June 30

Eight games leave the Game Pass library at the end of the month, including Tomb Raider and its sequel Rise of the Tomb Raider, Mecha BREAK, Payday 2, Slay the Spire, Ultimate Chicken Horse, Volcano Princess, and Unpacking. Anyone wanting to finish those titles has until June 30 to do so.

The Bigger Picture

Game Pass Ultimate was cut to $22.99 per month following a reversal of the previous price hike, while new Call of Duty titles were removed from day-one Game Pass access. The steady rollout of back-catalogue Call of Duty entries like Vanguard signals how Microsoft intends to keep the subscription feeling valuable even without front-line releases. For deal hunters, picking up a discounted key for Vanguard outright is still an option – compare live prices below before deciding whether the Game Pass route is the better value.
