Game is exhilarating as Survivor (playing as Killer is a joke as you will never win), however the graphics are horrendous, and the wait time for matches is usually over 5 minutes. Bought the cartridge and there still was an almost 15GB update needed. Skip this and get Friday the 13th, which has better graphics and less wait time.

Twenty seven months worth of patches, content updates and a next-generation coat of visual sheen is enough to allow Dead by Daylight to realize its ambition as one of the most enjoyably terrifying online multiplayer experiences out there. If you've been holding off and waiting for Dead by Daylight to 'get good' or 'get fixed', now is the time for you to finally jump in. You won't regret it.

The Community has tried to get some Feedback from the Devs but there is silence since weeks. There is a thread (link omitted per site rules) which explains everything with over 14k Views and 600+ Replies but not 1 (!) single reply of the Dev Team. So as a paining customer i and a play time with roughly 3000 Hours + must say I am really disappointed how the devs treat their customers and fans. Make the frames on PS4 great again!

They added dedicated servers which so far have been very bad at the moment until they optimize it. Causes more lag for the survivors and killer at the moment. When it was P2P i could easily dodge killer swings but now with dedicated you lag backwards more times then you would want to. Game is totally survivor sided and the first step is not getting scared when the terror radius starts making its heartbeat sound. Survive with friends and voice chat makes it totally unfair for the killer with all having perks and items to counter you with communication. 20ranks your learning the game so it might look killer sided at first. Killers have it more stressful unless your going against solo players which is more favored for killer but by a little. Just have to use your brain a little more to trick them. Plus side graphics are amazing for the maps and characters. Map reworks are huge improvement and i hope they dev's can keep it up.What changed from the start of the game. They removed free events and put in a season pass for 10 dollars not long ago. You can get free season pass if you can complete all of the first season pass but it's feels more of a grind than any other season pass i played. Sadly i'm going to have to take a break until things get better and balanced. Wish the devs the best of luck and hope the company decisions do not hurt the game more.
The biggest problem of this game is totaly survivor sided policy of developers. if you want to play and enjoy killers, you have no chance. OnThe biggest problem of this game is totaly survivor sided policy of developers. if you want to play and enjoy killers, you have no chance. On this game survivors are power role and killer is staying behind. With every new patch developers nerf only killers and their perks. Last patch for example nerfed main killer perk because new survivors was "frustrated" by this killers perk. They balance game around new survivors players and ruin it for killers. In result game is too hard for killers and too unchallenging and easy for survivors. I have bought all killers and they started they nerfing tour and now I have wasted money and bunch of useless killers. Dont recommend to buy.

How hard can it be to reprogramYou guys just did a big update and now I am getting errors up the ads way more than before it’s so annoying. How hard can it be to reprogram some things? I took a video and was lucky enough to capture all the errors I get in a matter of 2 minutes and 30 seconds and I’m going to post them everywhere I can go. You claimed you patched the problem where we don’t have to exit the game and restart it when it “loses connection to host” yeah sure it doesn’t freeze anymore but unless I close out the game I will constantly get errors and it won’t connect me to a game so the only thing you patched was it doesn’t freeze
The asymmetric player is really well recreated in this title, which gives us an extraordinary experience of the slasher genre. However, its graphics are not up to this really entertaining and addictive game.
Dead by Daylight is a bit like those horror films from the 80s of the B, C, or maybe Z series: there is no shortage of flaws and they are obvious, yet its undoubted charm and some excellent results have allowed it to break through the heart of many fans, despite everything.
Dead by Daylight makes the transition to Switch adequately, retaining all the asymmetrical horror goodness it’s known for, albeit looking a little worse for wear. The higher price is off-putting, but the flexibility of handheld play certainly helps.
This porting of Dead by Daylight is fun and scary as always. Sadly, compared to counterparties isn't the best version out there: the downgrade is too big to be ignored, with framerate drops and some minor glitches.
It’s a straightforward and repetitive online affair that, if you're lucky enough to be matched with the right bunch of randoms or happen to be playing a custom match with friends, can deliver the goods in terms of frights and tension from time to time. However, it has also always been a pretty clunky affair, a fact which is amplified further here by the noticeable graphical downgrade, laggy menus and the exclusion of a bunch of DLC that we really feel should have been included for the steep asking price. Still, if you're a fan who wants a portable version to play on the go, this should satisfy your needs as long as you're happy to grind yourself back to where you were at and fork out for your favourite killers. For everyone else, this is the least impressive version of the game available to buy at its highest price.
I’m sad to admit it, but Dead by Daylight on Nintendo Switch is a huge let-down. I love the game, and while I was excited to get to play it on a handheld format, its lagginess, framerate issues and massive graphical downgrade mean that I just can’t recommend it on Switch. If you’re still tempted to give it a try, perhaps wait a month or two and see if any patches come out to fix some of the current painful and glaring issues. Until then, the price simply isn’t worth what you get. Stick to playing it on another format; trust me, you’ll have a much better experience.

Ive played on pc, ps4, and xbox and the switch version is just inferior in every way. The frames are bad and the connection to servers do not help the gameplay. In addition, the players who choose to play as the killer just stay in the vicinity of the player on the hook because a lot of them are new to the game. If you are DYING to play this game and do not have a pc or ps4 or xbox, then have fun. But realize that it is the worst way to play the game and the MOST expensive ($40). Ps4 and pc is around $20 and xbox is around $25. Sure with the switch version you get some extra dlc's for the price but still expensive for a game that was released 4 years ago. In my personal opinion, I give this game a 5 out of 10 because I love the Dev team, the gameplay is great and exciting, but this port of the game is a waste of money at this point because of graphics, framerates, and connection to servers. Also the price =/
Dead for Daylight for the Switch does the bare minimum you'd expect from a competent Switch port, but performance issues make the asking price hard to swallow.

Textures are pretty good and the frame rate is solid. I will say that the controls are a little mushy on the cheap switch controllers but the Ethernet access I get from being docked has me at green ping 9/10 games. If you love this game and prefer your switch over anything right now then it’s a must buy.

As I'm writing this Stranger things characters will be added into the game in a week or two!I love having all of these killers I grew up with in horror movies, like Michael Myers and Freddy. I really enjoyed playing this when it first came out. But with them constantly added new killers to switch it up is what keeps bringing me back to the game. Now that said, there are some flaws, like the major one, no dedicated server? And playing multiplayer is a pain. When you survive with friends, after each game we constantly need to rejoin one anothers group for a new game. This could be fixed. But otherwise, gameplay wise, I enjoy it!

I've been playing the game almost right when it came out and I've been glued to it because of how fun and fresh it feels every time i come back to it because of a new chapter that came out. I've put in around 650 hours into the game which is nothing compared to some other big fans of the game.
I love the game but don't bother getting it on console. Not until they decide to fix the flawed system that the rage quitting killers love to exploit. Good game but very toxic and almost unplayable on the PS4.Pros: Great co-op experience, modes where you can only pay with friends, tense atmosphere, interesting killers and survivors.Cons: Killers always leave when the survivors are about to win, killers camp so survivors can't be saved, microtransactions, you lose all your equipped items and don't get bloodpoints if the killer disconnects. After every single game you have to invite your friends again because even if you're in a group because the whole thing disbands after the game.Had 5 games in a row where when my friends and I got the gates open to escape and the killer disconnected so we got nothing. I believe they should make it to where the killer or even survivor who disconnects is the only one to lose everything and gain nothing so the rest of us are not being punished for the antics of childish players.
Dead by Daylight pays tribute to horror movies from the 80s. The asymmetric gameplay is just as fun no matter if we're playing the killer or trying to escape him.

Matchmaking has been fixed, as have it's many bugs (With many, MANY, less bugs than Friday the 13th: The Game). With iconic characters such as Michael Myers, Laurie Strode, Leatherface, William "Bill" Overbeck, and soon to be Freddy Krueger, as well as original characters such as the Huntress, the Trapper, the Hillbilly, Meg Thomas, Dwight Fairfield, Jake Park, Claudette Morel and many more. I recommend this game to anyone who likes to get scared in a multiplayer experience.
While Dead by Daylight is far from perfect, the game delivers a thrilling experience as both survivor and murderer. Levels are small, so there is always something happening. Playing with friends is mandatory, as it greatly enhances the overall experience.
Dead by Daylight is a mix between an action and a horror survival game in which you will either be an innocent survivor or a cruel murderer where bloodbaths and the essence of slasher genre films will be the protagonists. Ready to suffer for your life?
Dead by Daylight falls short in some respects but, for a massive horror fan, it’s easy to overlook the game’s flaws when the core experience itself is so fun and engaging.
There are – and have been – asymmetric multiplayer games released over the years, with fairly middling results. Dead by Daylight has improved the niche by creating a product that balances simple gameplay with minimal downtime, and giving players plenty of depth to come back to again and again. It is – by far – the superior asymmetric multiplayer game to date.
Turning to the quality of porting work, the impression is that the transition from PC to PS4 has left the title in anything but excellent form.
Dead by Daylight is a lot of fun once you get into a match, especially with friends. The tension of struggling to complete objectives while avoiding an invincible killer can't be understated. But the downright unfair difficulty for survivors can be discouraging, especially since you have to play a very long time to unlock useful perks to make things easier.
Despite a lack of content, and some bugs, Dead by Daylight is an original adventure multiplayer game that it is worth. Is funny and captures perfectly the style of classic movies of horror.
Dead by Daylight has enough positive in it that this isn’t a terrible game. The problem is that it’s just not a particularly good one. The look of the game seems to be one that could fit just as easily on the previous generation, and the replayability factor is rather low given the limited maps and ways to win.
Dead by Daylight "dies" a little in this console version which features several translation problems and works as a poor PC port of the original game. Enjoyable if you play with your friends, but that's all.
This just feels like an all around sloppy port that was quickly pushed out to try to score some cash off of Friday the 13th's bungled release. The console version doesn't even include all the download content released for PC, including the Halloween DLC with Michael Myers. The mouse-like controls in the menus, coupled with the fact that most all the actions are mapped to the triggers and shoulder buttons, makes it feel like whoever ported this doesn't play consoles to begin with (thankfully you can remap the controls).

F*** YES!This game isn't going to be for everyone. Odds are you will be a helpless survivor. Yes, you will be helpless. The killer cannot die. Once again, the killer cannot die. When you first start playing, you will die more than you will survivor. Survivors are suppose to be helpless against a Killer. As a survivor you don't play to win games, you play to survive them. As the Killer you have one objective. That objective is to kill. That's the game. if you don't like the concept, than Dead by Daylight is not for you. Once you become good enough and an high enough level with good perks, as a survivor you eventually will learn how to out smart the killer. Then your odds of surviving will continue to increase. I like to compare this game to a slasher flick. One killer vs Four survivors. Can you out smart the killer and escape? Now the game is not perfect. There are some bugs. Ex: Messy movement when the killer attempts to pick up a survivor. (nothing game breaking). All Killers are not the same. Some are stronger than others. (Balancing). Games have no timers. Meaning, games can last forever. I have lasted in a match for 42 minutes. Games typically last 12-15 minutes :). Lastly, if you choose to play as the killer, you will be hosting the game. To fill up your game it can take upwards of 10-15 minutes. The reason for this is because everyone wants to be the killer. Plus side, if you decide to be the survivor you will never have an issue finding a game. The game is truly a good time. For $25 I recommend picking it up.

TheHaving played both Dead by Daylight and Friday the 13th I thought I would write a review to help people decide if they should get it. The great thing about this game is that there are different killers with different perks and the people trying to escape are pretty unique. The downside is that every match plays out the same. You try to repair the generators or find the secret door (if you find the key) while being hunted by the killer. Unfortunately you have no way of fighting back and once you get found, and are in the monster's grasp, all you can do is try to wriggle free before getting put up on a hook. This game has less bugs being that it was released on pc over a year ago, but I don't find it nearly as immersive as Friday the 13th. I think I would enjoy it more if the maps were bigger and the generators didn't take so dang long to fix. That being said, it is still a fun game and is different from a lot of the multiplayer games out there. Although I have it on the pc I am thinking about getting it for Xbox one too!

Hope that in time the game will get better as I do love it.They are trying to bring a new engine with a huge bug fix list soon and hopefully this shall get DBD back on track and be the game it can be. Right now the steam is filled with negative reviews and with good reason.Let's hope Dead by Daylight has a a new dawn in it's horizon.
An amazing survival horror experience and my favourite indie game so far this year; you’ll sure as hell see this one on my list of top 5 games of 2016.

I only playied in the beta, but the atmosphere is insane, the fear is crazy. But they need to add new contents and good ways to play with friends, and in this way not to screw up the game with pay to win things.
The idea is great and it's really intense and fun when played with friends. However, it's not the most polished experience, so it might be worth waiting and seeing how it improves in the upcoming months.
