I do credit the crew with one thing. At least they put people on streets. Nothing weirder than racing around a city that is devoid of total life beyond people in vehicles. This is not the game to bring me back into the arcade racer fold. The always online is BS for this type of game. The Test Drive series did it all on a huge map and offline.

The selection of cars is really nice, but it misses some top JDM cars, for ex. 180/200/240sx, R32 GT-R, 350z (but it has a 370z as a replacment), Silvia, etc. The classes are interesting and cool. You can even buy a Porsche (or as it is on The Crew - RUF) and make it an Off-Road beast. The map is probably the best thing about the game - it's a not much scaled down map of the whole damn USA. The off-road driving is so fun! The graphics were kinda outdated, but after the Wildrun update, they became pretty nice (atleast for me). Even now I enjoy just driving around in off-road cars with my friends.

Many of the missions are rage inducing, and for the whole game, you're just driving around to other places and completing the, basically, same missions. The one thing this game has going is the story, I think it's pretty good, and that they put a lot of time into it. Overall, the game itself is not very fun, but if you beat the game, it'll feel very rewarding.

TONS off lag . cars flying in the air car below magically get ahead of you . driving and magically find your self in the air . game-play is awful no communication everything is a big mess . so unprofessional work .

The handling is enjoyable, the world map is insane, the mmo-ish elements are...fun? Yes! I hate traditional mmo grinds, but this game does not feel like a grind. After every race you win an upgrade to your car's stats. After every, jump, speed, precision, slalom challenge, you win upgrades depending on whether you bronze medal it (eg. +5 grip) or get the gold (then increased to +6 instead). It is really satisfying to play. Difficult at times, but you try again because you know you can do it.The story I feel improves as you get further in. You kind of do feel like an undercover street racer, though I know that sounds cliché. It somehow works. Upgrading your car is just brilliant. You have more than enough cosmetic customisation to really make your car your own. I can't emphasise enough how huge and varied the map is; and filled with things to do!I loved Forza Horizon 2, but this game...is fantastic. I am giving it a ten, as in November the Crew gets a free patch that absolutely overhauls the graphics and erases most peoples biggest problem with the game.Oh, and motorbikes and monstertrucks dlc. MONSTERTRUCKS!If you enjoy racing games, you will be enthralled. Get this underrated game.

The story mode has a great storyline, but nothing we haven't seen before, but it still leaves you wondering what's coming next. A shortfall is repetition, where the person who gives the mission tells you to simply do one of these 3 things:1. Race2. "Collect" Crates (which you actually run into with your car)3. Ram into another car to take it downAnother con is that, you start with a car, which you upgrade throughout the game, but most good cars are either outrageously expensive, or require to spend real money. If you get a weak car, you must keep levelling it up and upgrading it to different specs like dirt and street which cost MORE money. Till then, they cannot be used in missions since most of them require an upgraded spec., making it a bit more tedious. Also, once story mode is finished, all you can do is replay missions, do faction PVPs, drive around the U.S. and buy more cars, or quit since there isn't much else to do.I have given it a nine since even with it's flaws it's an extremely compelling game

Rating The Crew is problematic, because you can look at this game from two perspectives. In view of some simplifications and scripted moments it will not delight those in search of pure racing. Those who appreciate large open worlds however will be overjoyed.

Even if not lacking defects, The Crew shines in many aspects managing to deliver and entertaining arcade racing experience and tons of content.

The Crew is not without issues, but still offers a lot of fun: the pleasant driving model and huge world encourage exploration. It's during the free roaming that the game spreads its wings and offers real breadth.

It’s a fun distraction for the short term but unless this is the kind of meal you’d like to eat three times a day for the next twenty five years, you are going to find yourself not quite sated by what The Crew has to offer.

The Crew was a highly ambitious game as it provided you with an open world America to explore with eight of your friends. Well the verdict is that The Crew is a mediocre racing game. At its best it's a nice open world game with awesome customization options to gear up. At its worst, the lags and glitches along with the Arcady car handling are what make this game less ambitious than it set out to be. It's a rent if you want to explore because if you are a die hard Forza fan, it might hold your attention for 1 hour and nothing more. It's not a serious racing game and if updates come and it improves altogether, this is one to look out for. Until then, it's a mediocre game.

From the absurd handling and cheap enemy A.I. to the ugly graphics and over-reliance on microtransactions, there are no shortage of problems here. Even if you are desperate for a new racer (I’m looking at you PS4 owners), I can’t justify recommending this game in its current state.

The size of the world is stunning and it's a good racing game, but the controls and the little bit disappointing multiplayer mode are the reasons it's not a great game.

The Crew does a lot of things right. Not only does it give you a huge game world to explore, but the ability to change up the whole experience by tuning your car differently is an excellent addition to Ivory Tower’s ambitious racer, allowing you to take one car and do so much more than just a mere race. Apart from the microtransactions you cannot go wrong here by jumping behind the dashboard of your favourite car and taking off into the sunset across the desert.

My only complaint is that it is always online and it should be playable offline. It's not really an MMO, it's more a massive open world driving game with online elements. Shame when the servers are one day switched off you wont even be able to explore the map when it didn't need ro be this way.

The Crew on the PS4 is a highly ambitious game that succeeds on some levels and fails on others that results in a standard racer.

Whilst the map is vast and rather beautiful there are just too many repetitive skills to do, the story is nothing short of a joke and I've lost count of the amount of times if tried to join my friends in a "crew" and failed meaning i finished the story mode just by doing solo jobs. Some of the cut scenes are very well presented and look amazing whilst others look like they are from an early release of a PS3 game.Overall this is an enjoyable game but the mixture of quality in visuals and game play will annoy you no end. I will change my review rating once Ubisoft/Ivory Tower patch the game.

The Crew offers lots of unique road trips in a gigantic world full of content. But unfortunately we could not overcome the technical issues, sloppy graphics, bad driving behavior and other flaws this game has. It is awful to see all that potential go to waste like this.

The little kids will be moaning about the graphics so they will just go back to thinking call of doody is great (rolls eyes). a negative point is there is no tutorial i was so confused about it trying to understand it. i love being able to do nearly every mission co op and its replay factor is huge. I f you like mmos try this its a never ending mmo game with cars its great. this is TESTDRIVE on xbone.

I had to buy this game as I am a massive fan of racing games but I'm left a little disappointed. The new consoles can achieve a lot more than this.
