The game is not a failure, but not a breakthrough. I liked the shooting itself, the plot itself is boring. But the main disadvantage is that the game intelligence is very weak. I also remember my mission to kill chief among the Nazis on the island, but he just didn't show up. I went around the island several times, but did not find it.The game is average, but if you're a sniper fan, you're unlikely to be disappointed. But if you're not familiar with this, you may not like the game.

Perfectly fine in single player, but cooperative campaign is the best way to experience it. Once again, there is competitive multiplayer and a few co-op modes including horde. Good number of weapons, options and difficulties. If you liked Sniper Elite 3, you'll love this. 8.3 out of 10

This is my first experience in the world of Sniper Elite, and I have to say that I wish I’d jumped on board earlier. I played it exclusivelyThis is my first experience in the world of Sniper Elite, and I have to say that I wish I’d jumped on board earlier. I played it exclusively in handheld mode, and it’s clear that Rebellion haven’t just phoned this port in; the performance is excellent, and the graphics are very impressive. As for the game itself, it’s a sandbox wonderland that is amazing fun to dive into. Filled with 8 (very large) missions/levels that allow you to either tackle the objectives by being a true ghost sniper, a trap setter, or with a run and gun mindset, or a combination of all of the above. Whichever avenue you take, there’s always fun, exploration and experimentation to be had. If you’re a fan of shooters/stealth/tactical games, have a Switch, and haven’t played this yet, get on board. It’s a high quality game that is wickedly fun to play (and replay). It seriously exceeded my expectations by a fair margin. Game length will vary from player to player, but I got a bit over 50 hours out of my campaign playthrough. Having said that, I was fairly methodical, explored a lot, and had fun experimenting with different strategies to take down enemy mobs. As for negatives, it seems a bit rough that Rebellion didn’t release this game as an ultimate edition with all DLC, considering that the game is over 3 years old, instead choosing to charge a premium for it. The base game is strong enough to justify the price tag, but it still leaves a slightly bitter taste in the mouth. Also, I experienced a save game bug a couple of times where the game stopped autosaving during a mission, and also prevented me from manually saving. This was fixed by starting the mission again from scratch, but was pretty frustrating. Hopefully it gets patched out. All in all, an amazing game that I’m so glad that I took a punt on. Bring on SE5!9/10
With expansive sandbox levels, some thrilling stealth action, and (of course) those magnificent X-ray kill cam shots it’s easy to see why this fourth iteration of Rebellion’s popular series is generally considered the most well rounded. With that being said, the seams are beginning to show this long after the original release, and while the Switch manages to pull off the action behind the scope exactly the way you’d expect, your mileage with the middle of the road visuals and mostly bland story may vary.

AndThis is a 2017 game running flawlessly on Nintendo's little handheld that could. As great a port as last years Alien: Isolation was. And further proof that when developers put their time in to optimization anything is possible. Sniper Elite 4 is a must play if you enjoy stealth games and/or m-rated war titles. It also has a variety of online co-op and versus modes to keep players busy long after the campaign has ended. (And it also refreshingly runs well online too). Don't let this great game fly under your radar if you've been starving for a COD or MGS game on the switch Sniper does more than commendable job of filling those shoes. A must own.
If you’re a fan of the Sniper Elite franchise, Sniper Elite 4 on Nintendo Switch is definitely worth checking out. It’s a new campaign in the series with necessary improvements from the last installment, while fans from other platforms can enjoy their favorite Sniper Elite Italian campaign from the comfort of their bed or on their commute to work. Sniper Elite 4 brings snipers into new locations featuring ruined castles, bayside watchtowers, vast orchards, underground tunnels, occupied cities, and far more.
Sniper Elite 4 is the best entry yet in this long-running franchise with great big meaty missions stuffed to bursting point with Nazis to snipe and stab in glorious slo-mo X-ray vision. There's a new-found flexibility to the gameplay, with Karl now able to shimmy and scurry vertically around levels and enemy AI that's much more up to the task than in previous iterations. There may be some slightly rough edges, with duff writing, naff characters and gameplay that doesn't change much from start to finish but, overall, this is playful sniper's paradise that lands on Switch in a truly impressive port. It's time to dust off that M1903 Springfield, find a nice vantage point and get to blowing great big bloody holes in fascist heads. The perfect antidote to 2020.
Going in it seemed like this was just going to be Sniper Elite 3 again but Sniper Elite 4 blows that game out of the water. It's such a complete package and one that feels so at home in portable mode that the absolute quality shining off this port easily puts it at the top of the war games available on the platform. Further highlighting developer Rebellion's fantastic work on the Nintendo Switch platform. Opening up the series to a completely new group of gamers who will hopefully love the brutal sniping action they have so sumptuously crafted. Don't sleep on this game.
Sniper Elite 4 manages to offer a unique approach to shooter games, thanks to its deep and articulated sniping mechanics. Yet, the release on Switch doesn't even try to hide its age and feels shallow and forgettable. If you love this kind of game, probably Switch isn't the best choice where to play it.
Sniper Elite 4 takes its perch as the marquee, non-arcade sniping title on the market. Through its strategic gameplay, disgustingly explosive kill cutscenes, and jam-packed sandboxes, Sniper Elite 4 satiates the need for a World War II shooter, while not getting dragged down by the norms of the genre. Even with some technical hiccups and a less-than-likable protagonist, Sniper Elite 4 achieves, takes aim, hits its mark, and then some.
Sniper Elite 4 is a superb adaptation, capable of shrinking Karl Fairburne's Italian adventure into a pocket size while keeping the strengths of the original game intact. If you already played Sniper Elite 4 three years ago and aren’t itching to replay it in a portable format, your savings would be better spent elsewhere, given the absence of exclusive content.
Sniper Elite is good, old school fun. A very straightforward game, you are the sniper, sniping people from across the map. That's it, for theSniper Elite is good, old school fun. A very straightforward game, you are the sniper, sniping people from across the map. That's it, for the entire game, even the last mission is nothing much more than go here and shoot this. Which in my opinion isn't a problem at all, I love games like this, focused on nothing but the gameplay. The sniping in this game is fantastic, the X-RAY system is always good fun, I just wish there was a bit more too it. The biggest issue with this game is the repetition, which there is just way too much off. Every single mission is essentially the same, whereas in Sniper Elite 3, there was at least some kind of substance too each level. Also, for some reason, there have been changes made too the gameplay, like the removal of sniper nests. Which in my opinion, is the biggest misstep they could have made. Why remove SNIPER nests, in a game called SNIPER ELITE. It makes absolutely no sense, and the game absolutely suffered as a result. It feels like you have FAR less opportunity for long range sniping in Sniper Elite 4, versus all other entries in the series. This game feels MORE like Metal Gear Solid or Assassins Creed, than a proper Sniper game. The game wants you too be more up close and personal this time around, and make us the Welrod, or a pistol with silenced ammo, takedowns, and using equipment. Which I find infuriating, the stealth in this game is awful, I'm constantly spotted from long distances from enemy snipers, often when barely moving, or even attempting too stealth. And enemies have the best sense of sound I've ever seen, and can often spot you near instantly from even 50 meters away. Another major issue is how slow you move while crouched, it's way, way too slow. Slower than just about any other stealth game I've played, which is a problem because the enemies in this game are constantly moving and looking around, like their all hopped on Pervatin or something. The stealth in this game is totally broken. Trying to play stealthy is a waste of time, I found myself blasting my way through the enemies with my sniper rifle, and my secondary weapon far more often than I found myself trying too use stealth. But at the end of the day, this is still a very addicting, and exciting game too play. It's best too play it in small bursts, as the gameplay get's repetitive quickly, but it's still more than worth jumping on and playing.
What a fun game,so many options on how to play/kill. You wanna go full stealth? Do it,you wanna go full rambo? do it,you wanna use trip minesWhat a fun game,so many options on how to play/kill. You wanna go full stealth? Do it,you wanna go full rambo? do it,you wanna use trip mines and lure guys in with a rock or whistle, you can do that too. This is what gaming is all about in my opinion, having fun, being creative and this games got it all. I got this game free with PS plus and WOW what fun and its got CO-OP so you can buddy up and mix it up even more,so much re play value as you can change how you play every mission.

This review is based on my experiences with both.I was already a fan of the previous iterations of this game and I mostly play first/third person shooters and this game did not disappoint. The graphics and audio are great. Characters move fluidly and seem to react in a realistic manner when shot and generally running around. I did not experience any issues on either console or PC.In this game you play as a lone wolf. A sniper behind enemy lines and must accomplish certain primary and secondary tasks to complete each level or mission. The missions and levels are fun and generally quite big and with an open world design feel, in the sense that you can take on any of the tasks in any order you wish. It is also up to you if you wish to play each mission stealthily or simply rush in all guns blazing. My only critique of the game overall is that in general terms you really do have to kill pretty much every enemy in the map to complete each level at least if you want to complete all of the secondary tasks too. But I will not complain too much as its so much fun to kill Nazis.Multiplayer also offers some added fun although I did not play much of that. Would have preferred if there was an option to limit the sniper role to one (perhaps random) player per side rather than having squads of snipers which can sometimes result in a lot of camping and makes for a boring match.Overall a good and fun third person WW2 shooter with a healthy mix of stealth and action. Highly recommended.#PlayMoreGames

I love this game so much and am very glad I got it. Sniper Elite 4 has many fun missions where you actually need to be stealthy to win best. It feels very realistic and fun. The DLC for it called "Target Fuhrer" is a very good addition. Totally worth an extra $10 to kill Adolf Hitler. This game is highly recommended to anyone who likes shooters.
Sniper Elite 4 is one of those games that has something for everyone. Being a borderline recluse, I was attracted to the idea of playing as a lone wolf, but the multiplayer co-op Overwatch game was even better!
We’ve missed the WWII theatre, and Sniper Elite 4 is a rollicking good reason to get back to Nazi-blasting. Story isn’t amazing, but the joy of stealth-sniping – particularly in co-op – is Reich on target.
Sniper Elite 4 is the best sniping game I’ve ever played, and is absolutely the high point of the series. This is a perfect example of what can be achieved if a developer understands what their game’s potential is, and never stops working towards it. Rebellion has made huge leaps forward with every new entry in this series, and they’ve finally reached a point where the results are flat-out incredible. I can only imagine the great things they’ll accomplish in the future.
The latest installment in the Sniper Elite series is better looking than ever. On the other hand the gameplay feels a bit uninspired, mainly due to lack of realism and a really silly plot.

Se invece preferite gli sparatutto ad azione compulsiva allora fareste bene a rivolgervi altrove, perché in questo caso, il titolo dei Rebellion non fa per voi.Review --> http://www.gamesark.it/mostra_rece.asp?c=19220170341459956&p=34&a=0&f=1&s=1

However, while the game is well made and quite fun, it is SO REPETITIVE. As a result it gets boring quite fast, probably after the first mission. I would recommend playing that at a friends house and you have basically played the whole game. Definitely not worth the £50 price tag. I have stopped playing as literally every mission plays the same. It is well made and the first mission is great, its just a shame the res are the exact same.

People are complaining about the "Lack of story". Yeah, their is a basic tale and some characters look like they snook in from sniper elite 2 but Sniper elite 4 is not about story its about killing a nazi batallion before they know what hit them. I would highly recommend a pure stealth authentic difficulty playthrough as the reward is great kinda like soulsborne games. All in all sniper elite 4 is a great showcase of stealth in its purist form like hitman great fun and worth a buy. If you like any stealth games.
Sniper Elite 4 is a very safe sequel - it doesn't introduce revolutionary changes but expands and improves on the things that are well known. If something isn't broken don't fix it - that's a good approach. At the same time this game quite often looks like a copy of its predecessor - the same issues are mixed with some cool improvements. All in all, fans should be really happy.
A hearty improvement on Sniper Elite 3 that embraces freeform play, gets better in co-op, and most importantly lets us shoot things from very far away.
With gameplay that can shock, amuse and satisfy in the same slowed heartbeat, Sniper Elite 4 is the best game in the series. While it graphics, story and characters can feel a little flat, the gameplay has always been the focus, and is so perfectly tuned to make the rest seem inconsequential.
While many will look to Sniper Elite 4 for the solo experience, anyone who has played previous titles will know that the multiplayer offerings are exceptionally enjoyable and Sniper Elite 4 takes this to the next level. Those playing as a team, with communication, will find it truly enjoyable, but that’s not to say those going it alone will be left disappointed. They won’t, for Sniper Elite 4 excels in many ways...Have we seen the year’s best shooter? Quite possibly.

The new Melee and stealth X-Ray kill cam system is fantastic, it adds a new exiting element to the game. Also the European WWII atmosphere is a welcome return to the game. All is all, Sniper Elite 4 is a another hit in my book. The game is smooth and the lighting is fantastic. And it is always a blast to blow up a truck with a single bullet from 500 meters away!

So, I figured I'd share my opinion on the game. As a sniping and stealth game, this game is god damn awesome. I loved the second game, but I didn't like the third one as much. However, with that being said, I find that SE4 is a blast! The option to go stealthy, guns blazing, the awesome signature killcams, the difficulty customization options... It's something fresh from a lot of these shooters we got now. The story is alright, I've only done about 4 missions so far, but the gameplay is well done! The campaign is entirely playable in COOP this time around, which is great and works really well! The PVP multiplayer is alright, much like other games, it's no AAA shooter multiplayer, but it's something to do while you take a break from the Story. Also, the COOP aside from the campaign COOP, is great as well! There's is Survival, and Marksman, Survival being up to 4 players, and Marksman being 2 players (one person spots, while the other snipes). I hadn't had a chance to try out the Marksman mode yet, but I did play a game of survival and it's probably what you'd expect it to be- survive a certain amount of waves of enemies. If you can grab some friends, or maybe join up with some strangers online, Survival can be really fun.One thing I'm not too fond of is that your character level is shared across all game modes, so it's one unified character level. I prefer having one level for PVP multiplayer, and the other for Single Player/COOP BUT this time around the game offers skills every 5 levels, where you get to choose between two skills, so I guess this way makes sense. Honestly, if you're looking for a game to pass time by, or have been wanting a good sniping game, this is it. It's got stealth, action, customization, ranking system, and multiplayer... well worth the money I'd say. Compared to its predecessors, this game is a vast improvement, and the levels offer a sense of choice in that you get to tackle every objective/side objective as you wish, in any order. It's very similar to the style of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. If that sounds fun to you, imagine having a friend to join you on the mission, having either of you'd stick together in an all out assault or stealth mission, or even splitting up with separate or the same play style. So... this game from me gets an 8, but unjust and unexplained reviews brought the games score down unnecessarily... It's a great game.
Sniper Elite 4 is a game for stealth enthusiasts. Setting up the perfect kill from a huge distance after sneaking past a base full of Nazi soldiers feels rewarding and earned. However, the scenarios fall flat, and the scope of the game is fairly limited. Attempts to offer more options and extend its lifespan don’t really pay off, but it’s still satisfying to shoot someone’s eye out.
While Sniper Elite 4 may not be the most innovative of games, it wholeheartedly embraces all of the unique quirks the series has come to be known for. It respects its audience enough to know just what they want, and delivers exactly that: pure unadulterated carnage.
If you prefer your shooters to be more methodical or enjoy taking out enemies with pinpoint accuracy rather than just blindly rushing into skirmishes, Sniper Elite 4 will delight your trigger finger. Whether you’re a long-time series fan or someone just who wants to test their sniping skills, Sniper Elite 4 hits its target.
With a revamped stealth system, improved AI, and massive sandbox-style levels, Sniper Elite 4 is hands-down the best game in the series.
Sniper Elite 4 is a well-rounded experience that delivers on multiple fronts. The campaign is flexible and full of satisfying objectives, and I enjoyed jumping into missions with a friend. The unique collection of competitive multiplayer modes rounds out Sniper Elite 4, giving shooting fans a game that’s worth a look despite its flaws.

Sniper Elite 4 is a good TPS, that has the guilty to not improve a lot from the previous chapter: sniping is good but the mechanics are always the same; on the other hand, the map and the exploration are quite good.
Its stealth and action mechanics may be simplistic, but they're functional and regularly enjoyable. And the maps--with their impressive scale, open-ended objectives, and clever level design--coalesce these disparate systems into a creative and fulfilling whole. There are still some issues with AI inconsistency, a bland story, and some dull competitive multiplayer, but it finally feels like this series is living up to its long-standing potential.
With the fourth entry of Sniper Elite, a franchise built on delivering on that feeling, developer Rebellion has created a well-rounded and empowering sandbox shooter.

It really is testament to the gruesome enjoyability of those hyper gory killcams that, even after four games, the sniping continues to be satisfying enough to warrant a look in. Sniper Elite 4 doesn’t miss its target, then, but it plays things safe enough to guarantee the kill without any undue risks.
A bigger and better game than its forebear, Sniper Elite 4 is ludicrously good fun, proving beyond doubt that there's infinite appeal in blasting Nazis' bits off. Scope it out.
Standing head and shoulders above its predecessors, Sniper Elite 4 is Rebellion assuredly stepping up their game. Sure, the story at the heart of the campaign is still a bit duff, but who plays games like this for the narrative? I certainly don’t. What’s important is that all of Sniper Elite 4’s gameplay tweaks and improvements come together to create a package that feels solid and succinct, offering an experience that is enjoyably tense and rewarding. What’s more, it’s always thrilling lining up that perfect shot before witnessing its gruesome effects on your victim via the x-ray kill-cam. Perfection eludes it due to the small amount of screen-tearing and somewhat repetitive sub-objectives, but Sniper Elite 4 is essential for the armchair sniper out there looking for their next sure-fire hit.
