My only real complaint is the mouse movement as I use a trackball and no matter how I set the sensitivity, it crawls across the screen. Decent customization options available for the weapons and ammo is easily crafted (at least for the standard pistols) before it starts requiring chem fluids which are not craftable. Would highly recommend. Excellent twist in the last section. No spoilers
Really fun game , doesn’t feel like a 9 or 10 because of the horror aspect kinda missing from it compared to how scary 7 was and resi 3 2Really fun game , doesn’t feel like a 9 or 10 because of the horror aspect kinda missing from it compared to how scary 7 was and resi 3 2 remake. It makes it feel more like a action adventure than a old school horror resident evil game but some parts had that spookiness which kinda made it better. I didn’t like the last dungeon which was kinda tedious and easy to get lost. I really liked how the puzzles were easier than in 7. In resi 7 I would get lost too many times without a using a walkthroughs , in this I didn’t need a walkthrough that much which is a plus because it effects the pacing. Anyways I absolutely still enjoyed this game a lot. Not perfect game but definitely worth getting.

Taking elements of past Resident Evil's and combining them with the First Person genre, super effective with its non-stop action and terrifying scares.A change of pace from the last game, with more emphasis on combat than before. Strangely enough, there is a tone of exploration to be had as well as heaps of replayability. A cast of some of the series most memorable characters, combined with a twist and turns that will grip you through the whole game. Gorgeous visuals, perfect sound design and highly enjoyable puzzles, combat and story. So close to being perfect but there are some issues with the game seeming to be cut down in some areas and Lady Dimitrescu being used far too early. This is a must-play and if you want to know why just watch my review for the full take on Resident Evil Village: https://youtu.be/hgr6R6FEA24
Resident Evil manages to prove once again that its DNA is not static, and that it has the ability to evolve in the same way as the viruses and biological weapons that its protagonists have fought for so many years. In more ways than one, Resident Evil Village is a huge tribute to 25 years of tradition, and an important stepping stone to its future.

On PS4 Pro with framerate prioritized you’ll get an almost identical experience like on current consoles or PC – an impressive port from Capcom.
Resident Evil Village may be the best Resident Evil of all time. It certainly is up there with the best of the series, but that heavily depends on your kind of RE game. If you enjoyed RE4 or RE7 then you’ll probably like this one. And if you enjoyed both of them as much as each other then this very well could be one of the best. It certainly is for me.
The first run through Resident Evil Village is a genuinely thrilling, often scary ride, which draws on a lot of features from the series' greatest hits. It's worth a look for anyone who's ever enjoyed a Resident Evil game or a first-person shooter. The cracks only start to show later on. Village is playable and entertaining, but it lacks some attention to detail when compared to the other mainline entries in the series.

Resident Evil Village is an incredible piece of work, capable of keeping us glued to the screen for the entire story. Although there are some flaws that make it closer to an excellent game rather than a masterpiece, we recommend everyone to play it as it's a good product in almost all aspects, which could also make you approach the saga for the first time.

While not without faults and with a strangely out of character last section, Resident Evil Village is simply one of the finest moments for the series, mixing together a wonderfully dark atmosphere with tense action and sweet morsels of horror and despair.
Overall, there’s a lot to like about Resident Evil Village. The story and characters are great, most of the scenarios are fantastic fun to play, and when it hits best it rivals the top tier of the franchise. It’s a little too action heavy for my tastes, but even so that action is generally a lot of fun. Is it the best in the series? No. Is it still bloody good? One hundred percent. I’m cautiously excited to see where we go from here, and am already looking forward to a second playthrough.
This game is pure horror action. Any fan of the series should play this game. The heights of tension rival Resident evil 7 and action rivalThis game is pure horror action. Any fan of the series should play this game. The heights of tension rival Resident evil 7 and action rival that of Resident Evil 4. The gameplay is solid. The visuals are superb. The pace of this game is like a roller coaster, it has ups and downs but the speed remains the same. This is a satisfying continuation of Ethan Winters’ and Chris Redfield’s story that will surprise the biggest RE fan.
Overall, RE Village is a fantastic RE game with some minor flaws here and there. It takes just about everything from RE7 and makes it better. RE Village loses much of the horror in RE7, but it makes up for it with everything else. I really feel it’s impossible to not like this game more than RE7 and this is coming from a person that greatly enjoyed the horror aspect of RE7. I was a complete naysayer once I saw that RE Village had more of an action approach and was proven wrong by the end of the game. Resident Evil Village is really good and is a definite pickup if you’re an RE fan.

Resident Evil Village is a great game that embraces the elements of the series that we know and love while also carving out its own space nestled deep in dark fantasy. In fact, this game beautifully finds a middle ground to please existing fans of the franchise but also serves as a great entry point for new players.
Resident Evil Village is a far cry from its more grounded and horror-focused predecessor, but in the end, it’s perhaps just as lovable. At times it feels like a greatest hits collection of some of the best elements of previous Resident Evil games, and while that leads to it not being wholly coherent, it’s not to its detriment. It may not be perfect in terms of combat mechanics and storytelling, but Resident Evil Village keeps you on your toes, with you never truly knowing what’s waiting for you around the next corner. And that’s why when playing it, the hours simply fly by. Will the series ever become stale? Not while it’s being as inventive as this, that’s for sure.
Some misconceptions about RE8!1. “Short game or it’s 8 hours only.” This is straight up WRONG. The game can easily take more than 12 hoursSome misconceptions about RE8!1. “Short game or it’s 8 hours only.” This is straight up WRONG. The game can easily take more than 12 hours to finish. Some even beat it in more than that. The in-game timer literally lies to you, if you’ve played 12 hours, it will tell you that you spent 7 or 8 hours. RE8 has more exploration and side optional in-game content more than any previous RE game. It’s easily one of the longest RE games. It’s got a perfect length for an RE game, not to mention that it has post-game content and good replay value.2. “It’s not scary.” hella WRONG! This game has different types of horror. From RE7 type of horror, to RE4 (panicking), and to Silent Hill / PT level of horror + other types. In fact, one section in the game has probably the scariest and creepiest moment in the entire franchise.3. “It’s RE4+RE7.” This is true, but it also has inspirations from almost every RE game. The game feels like it’s a celebration for RE’s 25th anniversary.I’ve enjoyed my time playing it and I think it’s A MUST BUY for every RE fan or a survival horror fan.- Easily and by a huge margin, RE8 is the best looking RE game ever. It's INCREDIBLY detailed, well designed and STUNNING to look at.- Very atmospheric, and its got a lot of variety in that aspect as well.- Sound design is also the best in the series. The intro is horrifying!- From the first few hours, you'll quickly notice how big and diverse the game is.- Levels are intricately crafted, with more ways to explore them. Really liked how the village was structured with more ways to explore and search its houses.- The game INSANELY nails the interior design of its levels; I find myself stopping every 5 mins or so just to absorb the beauty of it all.- The game's setting really makes you feel like you're playing in a horror themed amusement park.- There is clear emphasis on exploration and side content.- The game allows you to take control of your own pacing at certain sections. It’s not really a linear game. It has more freedom and exploration than previous RE games as I mentioned before, which I liked very much!- The game does a really good job of changing its intensity from time to time. Presenting different types of horror along the way, mixing them up with action / adventure elements & sequences while still being within its survival horror medium. It’s well balanced, diverse and refreshing.- RE8 has some of the highest highs in the franchise. When it hits, it hits real good. :D- NO LOADING TIMES. That's a technical marvel considering the quality of its graphics, level design and performance. RE Engine strikes again!- Puzzles are fun and rewarding.- Backtracking here is the most fun and rewarding in all of the RE games.- Music is top tier.- The merchant is cool.- The story is intriguing and thrilling.- The characters are some of the best in the series. Really interesting, very well acted and fun to watch. Not including Ethan though lol, however he's honestly better this time.* Advice: if you're playing with a controller (consoles or on PC), turn off the movement camera acceleration and aiming camera acceleration settings. They somewhat introduce input delay and make the camera movement feel slow. Terrible settings!

In the end, Resident Evil Village is not a perfect experience but it is still an awesome one and easily the best of the recent games in the series. It's scary, suspenseful, grounded in relatable human drama, and an overall blast to play; I highly recommend giving it a shot.

Resident Evil Village doesn't have the most engrossing or satisfying story in Resident Evil history, and its more action-oriented approach is likely to disappoint fans that enjoyed RE7's pure horror. However, Resident Evil Village is packed with replay value, rarely has a dull moment, and should leave Resident Evil fans excited for the franchise's future.
Those going in not caring that it might not feel exactly like Resident Evil or who understand that sometimes the cracks will show are going to have the most enjoyment from the game. Finish it, enjoy the Mercenaries mode, unlock bonuses, and play it again. That’s exactly what I’ll be doing.

Resident Evil: Village takes the ground work from the seventh part and mixes it together with the very best from the previous Resident Evil titles. It enchants and shocks us at the same time, to the point that we become completely addicted to it. A contemporary classic that sets a new standard, just as Resident Evil 4 once did.

Resident Evil: Village is equal parts terrifying and empowering. It’s haunting, tense, and filled with all kinds of gruesome action you’ll only ever see in a franchise that revels in its campy nature. Fans of the franchise will no doubt pick up on its familiar beats, but that’s for the best as it strikes a happy balance between fresh and familiar.
I’ll remember Resident Evil Village as a polished, terrifying horror game that kept tension levels high while also giving me the necessary room I needed to breathe.
Walking away from Resident Evil Village leaves me with mixed feelings. It wasn’t a game that I immediately disliked, and I can’t say that I didn’t have a lot of fun playing it. But a second playthrough made me more aware of pacing issues, and on harder difficulties the general spike that otherwise feels somewhat artificial.
Resident Evil Village is a great horror game that is sure to delight newcomers and old fans of the series. The horror setting has moments that are genuinely terrifying and the game’s narrative feels suitably satisfying, and grotesque, to entice fans of the genre. The only downside is that its increased focus on combat can make it feel a little too easy, even when played on the normal difficulty setting. If you’re looking to experience the true horrors on offer here, I suggest you crank up the difficulty.
Resident Evil Village is a worthy sequel that takes full advantage of its Gothic setting, with Capcom delivering an absolute masterclass in survival horror thrills.
Those comparisons to Resident Evil 4 are not entirely unfounded then. It is not as genre-shifting as that game – few games are – but it does share a certain ethos and hunger for variety in tension and action. It is very much its own thing too, both a natural continuation of the series recent reinvention and a manic expansion of its long-standing invention and flamboyance. Most of all, it is a tremendous, and tremendously terrifying, video game in its own right.
Enjoyable in a mad, pantomime sort of way, Resident Evil Village feels like a pretty significant step back from Resident Evil VII, and a toe back into the absurd. It's a game you're unlikely to forget in a hurry, for entirely the wrong reasons.
Resident Evil Village is a game that takes a risk and a new evolution of the concept of the series that Capcom started out with Resident Evil VII. Despite its flaws, Village is a great Resident Evil experience that will scare you and make you experience typical Resident Evil moments.
Resident Evil Village is worth every cent. If you loved Resident Evil 7: Biohazard then you’ll be ecstatic about being able to step back into the shoes of Ethan Winters in this new title. This is a game that is worth every penny, offering up a great blend of horror and action alongside some superb character development.
Resident Evil Village tastes new while still exuding the aromas of its essence. It manages to explore terror through new settings while compiling different approaches to build a videogame that, while tending towards action, does not forget the puzzle, exploration and tension typical of the saga. All this with a top technical aspect and an interesting plot that manages to be significant in the macro-plot of its fiction.
Resident Evil Village is truly the spiritual son of Resident Evil 4 and 7! This theme park of horror perfectly mixes horror and action and offers an extremely neat universe: the atmosphere is heavy, the bestiary generous, the casting is perfect and the puzzles bring a real cachet to one of the scariest Survival Horror I’ve been able to play in a long time. Unfortunately, the link with the series is not more exploited. Nevertheless, despite a less-inspired last part, what we have here the best Resident Evil since Resident Evil 4.
Without forgetting the past, and again with Ethan Winters as lead character Resident Evil Village picks different celebrated elements from the franchise throughout the years and adapts them to the modern first-person view format, in an adventure that explores different atmospheres and dimensions of interactive terror, alternating between action moments and total despair. It is not revolutionary, but it is the most complete RE ever, without fear of treading supernatural paths and trapping itself in narrative alleys.
