Oh well, anyway, I'm sure this release is an awful lot like the previous year's release, but I don't own that version so here's a review for 2014. This game is great. It's as simple as that. And no, not because Lebron James is on the cover. That's just an added bonus. No, this is simply the best basketball game ever made...to date. I mean, what else do I need to say? Do you like basketball? You do? Do you like video games? You do? Shocking. Then this is a no-brainer.

as a fan of this series i have to say 2k14 was a dissapointment ive been playing the game for 15 years or more since Dreamcast, 2k14 wasas a fan of this series i have to say 2k14 was a dissapointment ive been playing the game for 15 years or more since Dreamcast, 2k14 was missing many modes one in particular was "Online Association" in this mode you can Join an Association with up to 29 other friends , Draft your whole roster , Trade players and sign players from free agency play up to an 82 game season and simulate the real NBA season from all aspects as the Team Owner. 2k14 only had 3 modes basically, MyCareer which you create a player similar to "Road To the Show" And progress his stats throughout the season,MyTEAM a mode similar to "Ultimate Team" (Virtual Card Collecting) which is actually pretty fun you can collect Legends and Modern day Players...And Finally Quick Match Online Vs Another User , the server is horrible for NBA2k has been for years , i will say On the Court gameplay is REALLY GOOD although it has issues that need to be addressed. 2k said because they had to make 2 different versions of the game one for Last-Gen(PS3-360) and One For "Next-Gen" (PS4-X1) they couldnt put all the true game modes fans wanted into next-gen and it definitely shows , the presentation was also horrible from the moment you see the Main Menu it resembled something from the Ps2 era sadly, much more to say but ill shut up now . @ChillionaireNW

The downside is the MyCareer mode that is horribly cheesy and is too embarrassing to play. If you're an nba fan you must buy this game.

There are this momentum swings again, where one team hits every shot, gets every loose ball and so in in one half, just to see the momentum swing to the opponent and get crushed in the 2nd half. EVERY. GAME! Also it seems like some ratings doesn't matter. A Ronnie Brewer with a 62 3pt rating is a better shooter than Steve Novak or Paul George (I have these 3 players in an online association, and brewer hits by far more 3s than the other two with mostly perfect release timings on open shots). It also seems like everyone can block every shot/layup now. Some Point Guards showcase chasedown blocks even against players like LeBron James.Besides that, 2k14 is just a roster update from 2k13. They even removed working things from the game. For example you cannot practice plays in Online Association mode anymore.Furthermore they didn't fix any bugs and just created more. The settings in Online Associations do not save any more and you have to change shot feedback and everything else you change from default settings all the time you log into the OA.Most annoying thing with this game: I only buy it to play in my 3 different online leagues, I play for several years now. It has never been hard to enjoy like this year before (okay maybe 2k12 was very hard, too). The servers are down nearly 1/3 of the time since release. They are up some days and down again over the weekend. And this happens nearly every week. Now over the holidays they have eben been down for 2 straight weeks, then up for 4 days and now down again since 3 days....All in all, I have fun playing this game. When I actually can play it, which is not that often due to server downtimes.

I've literally invested $50 purchasing VC not including the $128 bucks I coughed up to buy this game for current and next gen. To be honest this game would have been amazing if I didn't constantly have to start from scratch, I have had a claim with them since December 19, and have yet to see a refund or anything close to the sort. If you want my opinion keep your money and just don't play a basketball game this year. (we all know NBA live is horrid). Overall I am disgusted with the lack of effort to fix these errors or return money. This is a million dollar corporation that is simply devouring customers wallets to no end.

While EAs next gen basketball is embarrassing, 2K shows them how it’s done. It plays authentic, it looks fantastic, which makes watching the games a lot of fun. If you like Basketball you’ll be entertained for months – even if the online games are a little bumpy and you don’t get all the modes you are used to.

The feature "StatsTM" they (2k sports) bragged about for so long before the release isn't working, they also bragged about adding "more than 3000 new animations" for player movement/interaction, but there don't seem to be more than 30, if that many.Many of the bugs/glitches/gameplay issues from last year are still in the game. A few have been fixed but some are even worse now. MyCareer/MyPlayer mode is 99% the same as in 2k13- all the bad stuff has been carefully preserved and nothing new has been added so if you intend to spend your time mainly in this mode- save yourself the money and the frustration.The only saving grace this game possesses is that Live2014 was such an epic fail that it basically solidified 2k's monopoly over the NBA simulators market and as NBA 2k14 proves- having a monopoly is good for the company, bad for the product and customers. 2k proudly following in the footsteps of the former Sports Sim kings of EA Sports who they dethroned. Irony.

Needless to say, NBA 2K14 has set the bar extremely high for sports games on PS4. It plays just as well as its PS3 underling, and even if you’re not a super hardcore sports fan we’d recommend a purchase simply to use it as a visual showcase for your new PS4. It never fails to put a jaw on the floor.

This, for Me, makes this My ATF (All-Time Fav) hoops game, & on the PS4 it's just absolutely gorgeous. The only gripe for true purists will be the over-the-top WWEish MyCareer mode which includes cheesy cut-scenes & the innately annoying knack for your counterpart to always be catching fire & carrying his team to an unrealistic degree. Having said that, when you're dropping 20 & 10 in your rookie showcase game you can understand the developers pushing your competition. For those who enjoyed catching fire in the heyday of NBA Jam you'll LOVE 2k14's varying levels of getting "ON FIRE!!", including defensively if you make a few good plays on D (steals, blocks, etc). The visuals are stunning, presentation is as realistic as I've ever seen & they even use the Real Voice feature to have real coaches & players during interviews. The online is a different twist on park hoops which allows you to watch & join games going on live by calling "next". There's more modes than you'll even have time for which makes for an overwhelmingly awesome full package. NBA 2k14 is the Best Basketball Game Ever. Good luck NBA Live!!! lol

After installing the game and finally getting past the lebron james screen i needed to create an account and tie it to my cd key. 2 days later i needed to do a fresh install of windows so i did, after re-installing the game my key no longer works and the game simply gives me a red label on the cd key field with no description. I contacted support and after 6 days they got back to me, asking for my system specs. I told them to forget...I'm obviously not worth their time. Worst 30 bucks I've ever spent.
