Resumen
Children of Zodiarcs es un juego de rol táctico para un solo jugador, basado en la historia, que combina el juego táctico tradicional con la emoción de las cartas coleccionables y los dados artesanales.
Children of Zodiarcs se inspiró en nuestro profundo amor por los juegos de rol tácticos, concretamente Final Fantasy Tactics y los juegos Shining Force de 16 bits, así como en nuestro amor por los juegos de mesa y los juegos de cartas coleccionables como Magic: The Gathering. Decidimos aunar estas pasiones para crear un juego que resonara entre los aficionados al género, así como para ampliar los límites de una forma divertida y emocionante.
Argumento
En el corazón de un imperio malvado, un grupo de jóvenes forasteros se rebelan contra el sistema corrupto que los somete.
Ladrones profesionales tras la pista de una antigua reliquia, el grupo se infiltra en los relucientes salones de las cámaras privadas de un noble corrupto en busca de su objetivo, escapando por poco de la ira de los guardias de la ciudad en cada momento. Desesperados por encontrar una vía de escape, se refugian en los sórdidos barrios de la ciudad y se enfrentan a los pozos sin sol del inframundo. Los guardias de la ciudad, fuertemente armados, las bandas rivales y las familias psicóticas de caníbales subterráneos van a por ellos. Abandonados por el sistema y utilizados por criminales egoístas, estos jóvenes compañeros se verán obligados a aceptar su propia realidad. Pero ojo, en el mundo de Children of Zodiarcs, ¡nadie sale indemne!

People usually play Final Fantasy Tactics and its brethren to enjoy stories or varied tactical situations. Unfortunately, Children of Zodiarcs has neither.
At twenty-some hours to completion, Children of Zodiarcs can feel like a long row to hoe. The weight of the story drags it down a bit, as it increasingly becomes obvious that the only character who isn't fundamentally broken in some fashion is the weird foreign kid who only appears in the side story. Everyone else is a bundle of neurotic fears and psychotic motivations, shaken hard and unleashed on an unsuspecting narrative. But negatives for characters aren't always negatives for the game as a whole, and Zodiarcs puts it all together well. It's a good game, and I'm glad to have finished it, but I cannot stop wondering if certain points weren't actually branching paths or plot flags in disguise, if there weren't some way to eke out a happier ending from it all. That may be wishful thinking on my part, but it's a small hope nonetheles. In a city as messed up as Torus, we need all the hope we can get.
Children of Zodiarcs sits you down, makes you feel at home, and presents you with bite-size mechanics that anyone could understand. However, behind the cutesy graphics, and the diorama board-game aesthetic, it is a surprisingly merciless tactical RPG.
Children of Zodiarcs pleases to no end and has you coming back for more, as you work to hone your deck, dice, and tactical style to best synergize your party. A must-have for tactical RPG enthusiasts, it wouldn’t be surprising if CoZ becomes a model for future tactical and card-based games over the next decade.
Combat sequences can be a bit long, The text story is slightly on the dull side. But it really makes up for it's challenging and engaging combat style.
